About three years ago, Leo thought that he would take the plunge. Instead of doing the old 9 to 5 and having maybe one exhibition a year he decided to say goodbye to the office and hello to being a full time artist and seven exhibitions down the line all is going well. Leo Davey studied Illustration at Falmouth College of Arts, specialising in children’s book illustration. He now works from his studio in his hometown of Minehead, producing paintings for exhibitions and galleries, commissioned illustrations and children’s books. Leo’s more recent works are inspired by our wonderful West Country flora, fauna and landscape. Constantly producing new works, Leo’s style is forever developing and varied, from loose vigorously applied layers and splashes, to meticulously rendered works, using watercolour, dip pen and ink.
