Robert studied Fine Art at Plymouth University in Exeter, 97/00, obtaining a 2/1 Fine Art Degree with Honours. He is now living in Ilfracombe in North Devon. As a studio-based artist and working from photographs and drawings of local landscapes he presents us with a complex interaction between realism and abstraction. This interplay allows for expression of freedom in his work, opening up the possibility of fresh access in the depiction of nature. The artist’s aim is one of increasingly inventive creativity in order to broaden his own understanding and comprehension of colour, structure and perspective.
