I   really   love   to   paint!   My   work   captures   and   expresses   what   I   see   in   life   around me     and     my     own     observations     of     human     and     animal     behaviour     and relationships. Contemporary   painterly   qualities   are   important   to   me,   allowing   the   wetness   of paint   and   the   energy   of   gesture   to   reveal   the   hand   of   the   artist   in   my   paintings. I   aim   to   capture   movement   and   the   heart   and   soul   of   my   subjects   through painterly   expression,   allowing   life   and   warmth   to   infuse   the   work.   Fragility   is expressed through unpainted or sparsely formed negative spaces. Sara's   career   continues   to   go   from   strength   to   strength   –   in   2013   she   spent time   as   a   resident   artist   at   the   Royal   West   of   England   Academy   in   Bristol   and exhibited   work   at   the   Mall   Galleries   in   London.   In   early   2014   she   has   already won   the   Thelma   Hulbert   Open   for   a   collaborative   piece,   John   Singer   Sargeant (Top)   Prize   from   the   Broadway   Arts   Festival   and   has   been   selected   for   many other shows including the prestidgious Jerwood Drawing Prize 2014!
